Simmer Sails joins the PWA corporate members’ pool
As of 2006, Simmer Sails is part of the steadily growing group of PWA corporate members. With its corporate membership, Simmer Sails is the fifteenth brand to officially support the PWA. Over the years, the Hawaiian brand has been no stranger to the PWA tour; its world cup riders include high profile sailors of various nationalities such as Spanish multi-talent Victor Fernandez, British rider Ben Proffitt, Italian American rising star Francisco Porcella, New Caledonian trickster Colin Sifferlen, French wavesailor Yann Sorlut, Hawaiian wave legends Kai Katchadourian and Keith Teboul as well as 2005 PWA Rookie of the Year Junko Nagoshi from Japan.
Founded in 1981 by Klaus and Malte Simmer, Simmer Sails has always been on the leading edge of sail design. The company marks its twenty-five year anniversary with its return to the circle of brands teaming up with the PWA to stimulate the sport’s growth worldwide. On a macro level, Simmer Sails’ decision to step into the PWA’s corporate supporters’ pool indicates an increasing support of the windsurfing industry for the PWA, the world tour and its riders.
Current PWA corporate members are F2, Fanatic, Gaastra, JP Australia, MauiSails, Mistral, Naish Boards, Naish Sails, Neil Pryde, North Sails, Quatro International, Severne Sails, Simmer Sails, Starboard and Tabou.
