CUTTING EDGE @ CLUB VASS
Club Vassiliki have just taken delivery of all their new boards and, as you have come to expect, the new fleet continues to lead the way in windsurfing…… As per usual all the boards are new and the latest 2007 models. No one offers such a wide range of choice for all levels.
Amongst the rack of Starboard, Tabou and Fanatic boards are some exciting newcomers.
The two brand new Starboard Gemini will give sailors a rare chance to windsurf very much together. Updated from the old F2 model this tandem board should be hugely fun and very popular whether it’s fun in the lighter wind or lightning quick blasting you’re after. Freestyle gurus Andy ‘Bubble’ Chambers and Simon Hurrey are eager to take it for a spin – and, while a forward loop appears to be out of the question, they are sure they’ll be having a go. The first two guests to carve gybe it successfully will be rewarded in kind………. (the BOARDS team don’t count!).
The Serenity is a very different fish. It is an interesting concept and a development for the sport. Designed for the lighter wind it will be ideal for the morning sea breeze before ‘Eric’ the crosshore kicks in.
New Beach Front Manager Simon Hurrey is eager to test the teaching potential for these new ideas. The tandem looks set to be used by the instructors to take ‘first time planers’ for a joy ride. The Serenity will be useful in giving lower levels experience of apparent wind and aid that age old problem – commitment in the harness.
There will be many more Tabou’s in the rack this year too. The 3S got rave reviews last summer and the 2007 kit is looking even better.
