Ticket for Two?

The Starboard Gemini tandem has been an unquestionably huge success both in the UK and across the world since its launch last year. More than 50 boards have been sold in the UK alone to centres, clubs, schools and retail customers. The resulting smiles from the riders have been almost as broad as the board itself!

The tremendous popularity and fun associated with the Gemini has given birth to the inaugural WORLD TANDEM RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS, which will take place in La Rochelle in France this September as part of the “Grand Pavois De La Rochelle” – a big outdoor watersports event.

Here in the UK the Starboard importer, would like to send the best British tandem racers over to compete on the world stage and fly the flag for our country. Therefore the Starboard Cup, which is the first race on the Sunday 9th September at the Fat Face Windsurf Festival, will act as a qualifier for the World Championships in La Rochelle two weeks later.

The first three Starboard Gemini boards across the finish line in the national master-blaster “Starboard Cup” will be awarded FREE ENTRY and FREE SHIPPING of their Gemini to and from the World Tandem Championships. All the riders need to do is book a flight and accommodation for the weekend and join Tushingham/Starboard’s Paul Simmons in France for a weekend of the most hilarious racing ever!

To take part in the qualifier event your team has to simply turn up at Beachlands, Hayling Island with your Gemini and register at the Fat Face event on Sunday 9th September. Note that there is racing on Saturday 8th too but it’s only the Starboard Cup on the Sunday that counts as a qualifier. Teams can be any age or sex, there’s just one category: Gemini tandem!
