Demo Day 17th – 18th May
Whitecap leisure is one of the longest established watersports training venues
in the U.K. and well known for having run very successful events and demo days
in the past. Situated at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes just off junction 14 of
the M1 (about 1 mile from the city centre), Willen Lake has a health club, pub
and grill and 2 hotels on site. Willen is a 100 acre lake in which Whitecap
run windsurfing and sailing lessons, powerboating courses and canoeing. There
is also the largest cable-tow water-ski in the U.K, which has been open since
April 2002 and proved extremely popular, not only with wakeboarders and water-skiers,
but also kiteboarders, who find it the best way to learn the handling characteristics
of their boards.
On 17th and 18th May, Whitecap Leisure will be hosting a ‘Try Windsurfing’
and demo weekend to coincide with the 1st Eastern Zone Team 15 event of the
summer. It will be an excellent opportunity for everyone to come and try the
brand new 2003 kit for adult and kids. Already confirmed are Tushingham, Starboard,
Gaastra, North, Mistral, Fanatic, Neilpryde and JP. It’s also a great chance
to bring your friends along and get them on the water. For the whole weekend,
Whitecap will be giving free 1 hour taster windsurfing sessions to adults and
kids and offering free advice on how to get into the sport. There will also
be an extensive range of waterskis, wakeboards and kiteboards for demo on the
cable from O’Brien, Liquid Force, Doubleup, Den Bol and Jobe. There will also
be wakeboarding demo’s from some of the U.K’s up-and-coming riders. There will
also be a Barbecue on Saturday evening – full details to be announced.
