Review – 2002
This was the first year of the YOUNG GUNS camp and it happened at Lake Garda
right before the King of the Lake. It turned out to be even more successful
than we hoped: 31 talented young sailors came from all over the world like the
islands of San Andrés (Colombia), Crete (Greece), Tobago (Caribbean),
Cape Cod (USA), England, France, Germany, Austria, and of course Italy. In the
friendly and relaxed atmosphere it was like a big family meeting to enjoy an
exciting outdoor adventure. Nevertheless, the level of these young sailors was
already incredibly high, and most kids only wanted to learn the latest, hot
moves.
One youngster summarized the camp as, “The best holidays I’ve ever
had!”
Preview – 2003
This year the Pro Center René Egli will host this YOUNG GUNS OF FREESTYLE
CAMP, and like last year the camp will be coached by the instructors of the
windsurfing center together with the JP World Cup team riders like two times
World Champion Josh Stone from Hawaii, 2002 Vice Champion Ricardo Campello from
Venezuela, "Mr. Grubby" Greg Allaway and the World Cup heroes Andy
Pusch from Germany, Julien Taboulet from France and Robby Swift from England.
No limitations: every young windsurfer who is interested may participate! Instructions
will be held for all levels, from Duck Jibe to Spock 540. You do not have to
be a pro sailor to participate and benefit at all.
The camp shall also address young talents who see the latest freestyle moves
as challenge and the camp as a chance to be the first step into the World Cup.
One of the highlights will be a contest at the end of the camp where everybody
can show what he has learned. This is all about fun but never the less, the
two winners will be awarded a wild card to compete in the qualification (17.07.2003;
right after the camp) of the PWA Freestyle World Cup (18.-21.July).
Costs: € 521.- for the 5-day camp, including (without flight):
– freestyle instructions (on water and land) by the JP World Cup Pros supported
by instructors from Pro Center René Egli including video training and
analyses
– accommodation & transfer airport-hotel-airport: 4-star-hotel incl. halfpension
with 7 nights from Saturday the 12.07.03 to Saturday the 19.07.03
surcharges € 257.- for 7 extra nights incl. halfpension and departure
on Saturday the 26.07.03

– a René Egli Fuerte Action T-shirt
– a Neil Pryde Back pack
– the farewell party on the final evening
N.B.: camp only (without accommodation & transfer) € 180,-
Rental boards and sails (not included) can be offered and organized by the
Pro Center René Egli team: the price for 5 days incl. insurance against
loss of or damage to rental equipment (JP-board and Neil Pryde sail-pool) €
150,-. Storage of personal equipment is free of charge.
