High TV broadcasts from the Fuerteventura World Cup Event

High.tv – the very first scheduled action sports TV channel on the internet, will be broadcasting the PWA Fuerteventura World Cup 2004 live on the internet for the very first time.


Weather dependent, Sportshows TV, the PWA’s Television Partners, who are producing the live coverage for high.tv, aim to broadcast at least one hour a day from the Sotavento Beach, Pajara in Fuerteventura between 18 – 22 July.


Rene Egli, Organiser and funding sponsor said “The 2004 Fuerteventura World Cup will be bigger than ever with the reintroduction of speed. As we are always trying to improve things I am extremely happy that a global audience will be able to watch the world’s best windsurfing live on high.tv”


Mike Gribbin, Head of Programming for high.tv said, “This is a great opportunity to showcase the huge potential of live internet broadcasting. It’s a great opportunity for the PWA to showcase our sport to the world in this exciting new medium. The Fuerteventura World Cup will also be the final Super X event of the year and hence we will
be crowning the Super X World Champion for 2004….bring it on!”.


This is the 19th year that the event has been held with the main location being directly in front of the Windsurf and Kiteboard Pro Centre Rene Egli. This year’s competition will include Freestyle, the addition of the World Speed Challenge which is currently set at 85.64kph, and the new Super X Grand Slam that had it’s phenomenal world premiere at last year’s Fuerteventura event.


High.tv offers the very best in surf, snow, skate and bike, as well as many other extreme and adventure sports. The channel is available 24/7, free of charge, and accessed globally by anyone with a broadband internet connection.
