The second elimination is now underway in Bonaire, but there were a few surprises and even more amazing performances in the first round:
Gollito Estredo in 7th. The former world champion isn’t exactly where we would expect to see him, down in 7th rather than sitting on the podium. No doubt Gollito will be out for revenge in the second elimination.
Max Rowe in 13th. Not really a surprise, but congratulations to Max Rowe who’s sitting as the top Brit at the moment. Between his performance on the water and chatting for hours on the live stream, Rowe’s doing pretty well in Bonaire.
Andy Chambers and Nic Hibdige. Chambers has had a fair few ‘dodgy’ decisions, not exactly going his way over the course of the competition so far. Let’s hope he can pull it together in the second round. Hibdige is doing a bit better, sitting in 25th and showing massive amounts of potential.
SQ and Maaike. The TOP female freestyler is top again, SQ takes the win and looks unstoppable. It’s fantastic to see more up and coming talent making onto the podium as Maaike Huverman (16!) sails 6 heats back to back to fight her way up through the double elimination and into second position.
