Sunrise Sunset – 1 May 2011

Win a NeilPryde RS:ONE with W4CR

It is now just four weeks until the annual Sunrise Sunset event on 1st May. Organised by Windsurfing4CancerResearch (W4CR), the event will be hosted at 50 venues around the UK, where windsurfers will take to the water and undertake awesome challenges to raise money for cancer research, education and support. W4CR is a charity formed by windsurfers and which promotes awareness of cancer and supports exceptionally worthy causes such as Macmillan, Breast Cancer Care, Cancer Research UK and many more.

Sunrise Sunset is a great day out for everyone, with venues organising competitions, barbecues and enjoying getting together at the start of the windsurfing season. As David Tuttlebee, W4CR’s founder and inspiration who lost his battle with cancer last September intended, the event is “more than just a day at the beach”.

At one of many venues Rutland Water, organiser Gordon Roach said: “this is our third year of Sunrise Sunset and each time it gets bigger and better. We’ve raised over £2,000 since 2009 and hope this year will beat last years’ record for both entrants and fundraising”.

From here you can download publicity material and sponsorship forms, order clothing and find out more about the good causes W4CR supports.

This year there is an added incentive for entrants: those who contribute over £150 in fundraising will gain entry into a prize draw for a brand new Neil Pryde RS One board and rig package worth over £2,500! This state of the art kit was generously donated to the charity by Neil Pryde himself.

So enter now and be part of a fantastic event in aid of a worthy cause – fighting the battle against cancer.
