We are down to the final four of the men here in Pozo and unfortunately Swift was taken out by Traversa… but this leaves it all to play for for the Brits in the double elimination. With the wind and waves still pumping it means we will continue for as long as possible today and then it will be straight into the double elimination tomorrow.

With more heats in the bag it is now only Robby Swift that’s left in the draw as Adam Lewis loses out in a close heat to Thomas Traversa. This sits Swift nicely in the third round where he will face last year’s world champion Traversa.

Adam Lewis and Robby Swift both it through the first round here in Pozo in style. The conditions are still firing so it will be straight int round two once the first is completed.

It’s day one here in Pozo for the Gran Canaria Wind and Waves Festival and things have already kicked off. The wind is hitting insane speeds with the guys using their 3.3s and 3.7s, whilst there is a good swell running the waves have dropped a little during the middle of the day due to the rising tide… but they will be ramping up again as the day continues.

Ben Proffitt was up in the second heat of round one and faced Alessio Stillrich but unfortunately did not make it through, whilst next up we have John Skye vs Jules Denel and Robby Swift vs Camille Juban – both of which could be tough heats for the British guys! After that it will be straight into heat four where Adam Lewis will face Moritz Mauch. Lewis will need to capitalise on Moritz’s lack of jumping motivation and put in a good performance to send him through.

We’ll catch up with the Brits throughout the day to see how they’re all getting on, so stay tuned!
