2004 Mistral Windsurf World Championship in Turkey

Windsurf Show from World’s Best Windsurfers


The 2004 Mistral Windsurf World Championship will be held in Çeþme
which is a
most important windsurf place for Turkey, from 8th 18th April sponsored by
boarders favorite trade mark Quiksilver.

The Championship will be organized by Turkish Sailing Federation together
with SportWorks Group for and on behalf of under specified conditions laid
down by IMCO and International in co-operation with the ISAF.

Only a few months before the Athens Olympic Games this Championship is the
last chance for nations to qualify to compete in the Olympic Regatta. The
Worlds number one windsurfers will be attending the Championship including
the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Woman medalists Allessandra Sensini (ITA),
Amelie Lux (GER) and Barbara Kendall (NZL) as well as the 96 Olympic Gold
Medalist Nikolas Kaklamanakis (GRE) and current ISAF World Ranking List
number one, Maxim Oberemko (UKR) and etc.

Top windsurfers from all around the world such as, Hong Kong, USA, Mexico,
Brazil, New Zealand, European countries and the Turkish National team will
be competing in the Championship. Ertugrul Ýcingir who is 26th on the
World Ranking list will compete in the Championship with his 5 other
national team members.

During this Championship, many countries will finalize their national
selection process to choose one man and one woman to join their national
Olympic team to take part in the 2004 Olympic Games.

The event Headquarters is located in Altýn Yunus Resort Hotel ,
Championship will start on 8th April with registration & measurement, and

10th April there will be a practice day and the Opening Ceremony.
Championship will end on 17th April with Medals & Closing ceremony.

2004 Mistral Windsurf Championship finals on 16th and 17th April will be
live on Major television channel TV8.
