Are you going?

I am trying to get the time off and my van is packed for a last minute departure but the new 4 day format does not fit well with those pro fleet who work full time with limited leave, so it’s 50 / 50… moan, moan, grumble, grumble…

What fleet are you competing in?

Would be pros but maybe I’ll have to drop to masters or amateurs as they are weekend only..

What equipment are you taking?

Van is loaded with both 84 and 94 litre Goya quads and a quiver of Goya Eclipse sails… not forgetting a few Flymounts to help capture the action and a couple of Beach Bum beanbags for any down time chilling between heats.

What conditions are you hoping for?

Strong wind and waves, preferably not too onshore …the Bigsalty.com forecast looks good.

How have you been preparing/training for the events?

It’s been the best winter ever for windsurfing in Cornwall so I have had plenty of water time training / sailing.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths are my consistency with jumping and ability to go high, weaknesses are an inability to sit out good sailing conditions causing me to free sail too much at events, but never in the sailing area of course… haha.

Who’s your biggest rival?

John Skye… after I beat him at Gwithian in the amateurs back in the day he, in a desperate bid, sold his body to the judges for ever more and has since scuppered many a title opportunity for me. Actually I think Horrocks must have done likewise recently!

What position finish are you aiming for?

It has to be first place….I’ve had enough of being runner up.
