Jamie Hancock
Are you going?
Not to Rhosneigr or Brandon Bay this year. RRD paid me off so John Skye has a better chance of winning a final British title before retirement.
What fleet are you competing in?
I’m not.
What equipment are you taking?
i’m not going, so I will be taking no equipment.
What conditions are you hoping for?
I hope they get a variety of decent conditions to crown the best all round British wavesailor. I also hope that everyone gets rewarded with some fun conditions at all the events for making the effort to be there. The locations that the British tour have are fantastic and are a great reflection of UK windsurfing.
How have you been preparing/training for the events?
Yes, more like recovering but now I feel I am finally able to train and improve once again. I’m in Morocco working on some video projects and spending some time on the water
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I have spent time in a variety of different conditions and don’t travel to an event hoping for conditions for me to do well in, more like hoping not for conditions that other guys are best in. My weakness is probably port tack although I finished 9th in Tenerife at my last PWA contest, jumping though I do struggle with on port tack sometimes.
Who’s your biggest rival?
The BWA and Jack Hunt. To be honest though, most heats are difficult on the British pro tour as there are a lot of great windsurfers.
What position finish are you aiming for?
I’m not as I’m not going. But I hope to maybe attend either Tiree or Cornwall later in the year.
I wish all the guys a successful couple of events.
