BWA – Quick Fire with the Pros & VOTE For Your Winner

The 2013 Champion Phil Horrocks has been adapting to family life since winning the title last year, but he’s back an ready to make it two in a row:

Are you going?

Yes, for sure, hoping to get some good sailing, got to fly the flag for G&T again this year!

What fleet are you competing in?

I was thinking the ladies.. how are my chances?

What equipment are you taking?

I think I will streamline my gear this year, probably just my big and small onshore boards and a side shore board just in case.

What conditions are you hoping for?

All time, gangbusters with mega wind and waves, will we get it? Not sure, but the last event delivered, and that went well!! So why not hope!?

How have you been preparing/training for the events?

I sailed a lot in the winter in SA and have now had a couple of months where I barely touched my windsurfing gear, so I’m mad keen to sail, which is usually good.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I like it wavy and good conditions, I don’t mind onshore or side shore as long as there’s a decent section to hit! If it’s shite then it’s not so much fun and we kinda have to do it, rather than want to do it!

Who’s your biggest rival?

I would say team mate Ross Williams is very dangerous, as would be Jamie Hancock, they both shred, but you can’t rule out Proffitt, Chambers or Adam Lewis, they’re all good, and capable of winning.

What position finish are you aiming for?

Number 1… that’s what you should always aim for! I think if you’re top 3 in all the events, you’re in with a good shout at the end of the year when anything can happen…
